Managing Recordings

Once a message recording is stopped, it is saved to the disk of each host within the ScaleOut Digital Twins cluster.

Messages that are available on the cluster’s disks are said to be “staged” and ready to be replayed.

Note

Staged recordings are located under the following directory on ScaleOut hosts:

  • Windows: C:\ProgramData\ScaleOut Software\MessageRecordings

  • Linux: /usr/share/scaleout/message-recordings

Staged message recordings can be persisted to a SQL-compliant database for long-term storage. Once persisted, they can be deleted from the cluster’s disks to free up space.

Users can manage existing message recordings by using the Message Recordings screen. This screen allows users to view all new and staged recordings, persist them to a database, stage back persisted recordings, and delete recordings from both storage locations.
